3 ways to get something back after you’ve clicked away

You know that sinking feeling you get when the thing you spent all that time on is now gone from your screen.

A lot of us who grew up in the olden days remember when that meant losing all that work and starting all over again. Fortunately, these days almost everything you use stores previous versions, so you can almost always get something back.

  1. Typing, formatting, cutting/pasting error? Control+Z to undo an error
  2. Do you prefer an earlier version of the file you’re working on? Microsoft, Google and WordPress save all previous versions of your file. Look around for options called ‘Revisions’ or “Revision History’
  3. Did you close a tab that you want to re-open? Control+Shift+T
